  1. Hey Dudes,
really nice works done for supplying that lost World with all these treasures that once showed the whole world how to do music the right way, as almost nobody was listening…
It would be very handy if you added some button to download all of it so I would be spending all these weeks practising the the Songs and not waste a lot of Time leafing through all of it to print out each single one bit by bit.. 😉

    • G’day Dragon,

Unfortunately the plug in I use to generate tabs isn’t great for downloading. I’ve tried to implement a ‘print’ feature, but when the page is delivered by the serer the tabs are a series of dollar signs and numbers. After it loads from the server it uses Javascript to transform it into proper tab – on some Apple devices it doesn’t work at all and the whole site looks like trash. The only thing I can recommend is taking screen shots of the tabs and printing them out.

      Thanks for having a look!

    • Hi Keith,

Thanks for having a look at the site! A t the top of the page there is a link called “The Original 52” which should list the songs I did in the first year. Next to that is a tab “The Songs” which should list all the songs Ive done so far!

      Cheers,

      rpc.

  2. I was born in ’42. We must be grateful to Lomax. No one else was as persistent and dedicated to documenting the music and the culture that created it. But don’t we wish he had recorded this William Brown at the same length he devoted to Mckinley Morganfield?
I think its safe to assume there were so many proficient players around that no one could do more than collect a small sample. What
we have is a miracle. Maybe this really is “The Devil’s music”. He wanted it all to himself but some of it slipped through his grasping fingers.

    • Hi Reynold,

I agree 100%. While the young Muddy had undeniable talent, this Willie Brown was light years ahead of most players. I wish Lomax had dedicated a week to record him!

  3. Hey!
Just wanted to let you know that this website is my ‘100% go to’ for anything blues. (Currently on avalon blues!) I absolutely love this website. And what i enjoy most about it isn’t the tabs, it’s the sections above the tabs, “The Man”, “The Song”. Alot of people don’t really care about where the music comes from, or who that person was, they just care if it sounds good. And that’s a shame.

I love the passion you put into each and everyone of them to go through all this background. It makes it a fantastic opportunity to learn more about what i’m playing and where it comes from, to better understand how it is meant, to be played.

You are truly the ultimate blues source on the internet.

Just a 22 year old keepin’ blues alive!

    • Thanks for the kind words, I don’t keep it updated as much as I should but reading comments like this reminds me why I started this in the first place!

Glad yo are getting something out of it. Rock on!
